There's a similar bug that affects Final Cut Pro. If I open the Unity software or open a game while Final Cut is running it messes up the player in Final Cut. When I hit play it just starts randomly displaying frames. I have to turn off Unity and restart Final Cut to sort out the mess. I'm careful not to open Unity while Final Cut is running. I never reported it as a bug because I doubt many run onto the issue and it's more something to be aware of than anything. It sounds like a related issue though since it's causing a similar playback problem.

It's always nice to fix something, isn't it? Anyway, your title made me laugh. Thanks for that.
