Asset Store Action News – June 2011

June 16, 2011 in Asset Store, Unity Products and Services by

Asset Store Action this June has been non-stop!  It’s our best month yet, as the store continues to bring more models, scripts, starter kits, tools and tutorials to Unity developers everywhere.

This month’s most popular newcomer to the Unity Asset Store is without a doubt Hard Surface Shaders Pro, by Bruno Rime, which brings photo-realistic  metallic, glossy and glassy surfaces to your models.

This stunning set of shaders provide real-time screen-space reflection & refraction, chromatic aberration, and multiple shadows in forward rendering for a look previously achievable only by ray-tracing.  Adorable robots and grinning evil skulls love Hard Surface Shaders Pro– and we think you will too!

Also popular this month is SimplePath, by Alex Kring.  This set of simple-but-effective scripts provide an rock-solid real-time pathfinding system for NPCs and enemies.  With SimplePath, your enemies will figure out the best way around buildings, moving objects, other characters and uneven terrain surface, to hit their target.  Definitely the easiest-to-use pathfinding system I’ve seen in a long time, and the example scenes have practically everything needed to get your zombies going.

Not only will you find other top selling items, like Antares Vizio, Playmaker, or the brilliant Mixamo Animation Store, you’ll find hundreds of different models, textures, tutorials and audio tracks, all guaranteed to work perfectly with Unity, royalty free! There’s weird, wacky, and wonderful creatures. Planes, trains, and automobilesHeroes. HeroinesBuildings and props for nearly any game setting.  And if you’re a modeller, coder, pixel wrangler, sound designer or other talented and prolific creator of content, we can help you sell or freely distribute your work– send it our way!

I suppose, none of these will ever shine on iOs?

the hard surface shader package is really awesome. i think you should hire the guy and tell him to write shaders for unity users with your shader ninjas.

Hey,this very nice.
But can you also write dynamic fluid surfaces ?
And when the character walks on it,then it automatically generates waves ?

I purchased these shavers and love them. Question: what, if any, of these shavers will work on iOS?

I agree, they should hire this guy to write shaders for Unity full time. What is really missing from this kit is a quality skin shader, still no one can make a decent one. Hopefully if enough people buy this he will make an update with skin or at least offer another shader pack with skin.
