The Unity Community Out in Force at E3

June 17, 2014 in Community, Events by

E3 is always an exciting time for the games industry. We get to watch the fireworks and amazing games announced and/or demonstrated at the show. This year has been especially big with developers really starting to ramp up for big releases on consoles. There’s also been a lot of attention being paid to indie houses making some incredible games.

If you wandered the show floor or paid attention to any of the big press conferences before the show, you undoubtedly ran across a slew of Unity titles. There were nearly 20 mentioned in Microsoft’s press conference alone!

There were games made with Unity showing at several different booths like the enormous booths of the big console manufacturers and the awesome indiecade booth. We just wanted to say congrats to all of the games at the show and recognize their part in making the games business the incredible beast it is these days. Thank you for the so full list! Attending the conference I noticed that Unity games were among the most interesting, and nearly all great booths had them! Think Unity is the future of game development, especially now when the 3d technologies become more and more popular

What’s about “The Forest”? It’s also made in Unity and was released recently.
Have you not added it because it’s alpha?

@Chillersanim

This particular list is only about games that were shown in some capacity at E3. I don’t believe The Forest was at the show. If you know otherwise, I’d be happy to add, the game is awesome.

Hi All, I would like to add “The Defenders Of Time” to this impressive E3 Unity3D games list too if we may. DoT was running on 24 laptops allowing hands-on single and 4v4 competitive play at Four-Lights’ Booth #2447 South Hall last week. We are very thankful that GameSpot also gave us a live E3 2014 interview and Demo opportunity. Below is our Steam Green Light Page Link if we may. Thank You Unity3D community !

This is testament to the great leveller that is Unity3D. I’m still not happy with the pricing structure of having to buy pro versions for each platform but, aside from that it is clear that Unity allows anyone with a game idea to go make a professional go of it. Without software like this, the games industry would have stagnated into nothing a long time ago.
