Thank you for your feedback!

Unity 2018.3 beta is now available and keeps getting better with every release, with improvements and fixes based on your feedback. We’re also working on demos that help you figure out how to work with all the beta features, like the new Prefab workflow with nested Prefabs, Prefab Variants and Prefab Mode. Read on to find out how to get the demos and how to win cool swag by participating in our beta program.

We’ve recently announced that version 1.0.0 of the Unity Hub is available. With this release, the Hub is the default download option for all future Unity releases. Download Unity 2018.3 beta through Unity Hub.

The legacy installer will remain an alternative way to download and install Unity. Also, beginning with 2018.3, we’ve removed the option to download and install the official offline documentation from the legacy installers of future Unity versions. This is still an option in the Hub. You can also download the official documentation from this page.

Demo projects for new prefab workflows

We’ve now upgraded our collection of examples that will help you learn how to use the new improved prefab workflows.

The first demo project is the same one shown on-stage in the Unite Berlin 2018 keynote built entirely using assets from the 3D Game Kit.

The second demo project uses various robot prefabs to show Nesting and Prefab Variants and can be downloaded here.

Meet our devs at Unite Los Angeles 2018

Unite LA is just a few weeks away and we will be hosting several roundtables where you will be able to provide direct feedback to the Unity teams. As a beta tester we’d love to hear what you think about the new features and roadmap as well as understand your interests. If you are planning to attend Unite LA and interested in meeting with us at the event, please fill out the survey here. Based on your survey responses, expertise level and interests, we may invite you to discuss a variety of Unity topics.

Win Unity Gear

As an added bonus for participating in the beta, 25 lucky testers will get a Unity Gear set. Each set includes a hoodie, a tee and a mug from the Unity Gear store.

Note that only original bug entries are eligible (in other words, entries that have not yet been reported at the time of submission and have been reproduced and acknowledged by us as a bug). This sweepstake is currently expected to run until November 14, and several beta versions will be made available during that time.
